Clearline is all about sustainability, especially within fashion and textiles, so this year’s Detroit Month of Design that took place last month felt especially meaningful. The 2025 theme, Detroit City of Design, celebrated 10 years of Detroit being the first (and still only!) UNESCO City of Design in North America.
As part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, Detroit’s design community embraces the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each of the 80+ featured events this year highlighted which SDGs they focused on, making it inspiring to see design used as a tool for global impact.
